Music Monday #29: Angels on The Moon by @ThrivingIvory
Another Monday has passed by, the quicker time flies, the merrier shadowhunters will be! The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones movie will be released in theaters soon, nearly 79 days to go! Since it is Monday again, here is another song for Music Monday.
In City of Bones, when Valentine revealed that Jace and Clary were brother and sister, that was the moment I thought, "wow another fictional couple that won't work out!" Of course I cried with sadness for Jace's vulnerability during that scene and cried with anger because Valentine ruined a relationship that is meant to be!
The song I chose that I believe would best fit this scene would be "Angels on the Moon" by Thriving Ivory. Listen to the song first and then I'll explain why.
This song would be perfect to capture how Clary and Jace felt when Valentine spilled the beans of their blood relation. Also, if we ever got to read this scene from Jace's point of view this is probably how Jace felt inside, we will never really know how Jace felt because he never shares his true emotions with anyone, well with the exception of Clary.
Don't tell me if I'm dying
'Cause I don't wanna know
If I can't see the sun, maybe I should go
Don't wake me 'cause I'm dreaming
Of angels on the moon
Where everyone you know
Never leaves too soon
Tell me what you think of these music picks and let me know if you have any song choices for Music Monday in the comments below or via @TMI_Institute on Twitter.

There have been plenty of fantasy movies trying to fill the gap left by "Harry Potter" and "Twilight," but this adaptation of Cassandra Clare's bestselling series might have the best shot at taking over. Lily Collins plays a young woman who discovers she has the ability to see the demons that walk among us, and she joins a band of Shadowhunters to defend the human world. It's got action, romance, werewolves, and everything else fantasy fans are looking for.

Here is what they had to say about the City of Bones inspired game:
Finally, DeMiroz teased a new title that ties into the upcoming Sony Motion Pictures film Mortal Instruments. That Twilight-like film, due out in August, has a slightly different audience than PlayFirst is accustomed to, so the developer plans to try a new genre for its adaptation.

'THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES' tops The Guardian UK's Top 5 movies of 2013 list
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones made the #1 spot on The Guardian UK's top 5 movies of 2013. Beating The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
1. City of Bones by Cassandra ClareNumber One is too easy. One of my very favourite series is FINALLY being made into a film! City of Bones by the BRILLIANT Cassandra Clare – one of the most amazing authors ever. It is going to be the most epic film: I mean, with demon hunting and the totally amazing Jace Wayland, how can it not be?! The basic idea is that there is this hidden world full of all kinds of beings: Downworlders (vampires, werewolves, etc), demons, and Shadowhunters (human-angel hybrids who protect humans from demons).
For all you fantasy, action-packed, demon-slaying lovers out there, this film and book is definitely for you! And, may I just say, the casting is brilliant: Jace, Clary, Simon, Luke, Jocelyn and Valentine all look perfect! I'm not entirely convinced by Isabelle and Alex, but I'm sure they'll be great too! With humour, wit, action and romance, this film will have something for everyone! City of Bones is slated to come out on August 23rd! I am counting down the days!
Head over to The Guardian UK to view what other adaptations made the list.
The Mortal Instruments: Cityof Bones will be in theaters on August 23rd.

Lily Collins talks Clary Fray with Hollywood Crush!
Hollywood Crush got the chance to interview Lily Collins at WonderCon. She talked her character Clary Fray similarities between them and more.
Check out what she has to say about Clary in the interview:
Lily on the similarities she and Clary have:
"I actually saw a lot of similarities between Clary and I," Lily said. "She's a go-getter. She's feisty. She fights for what she believes in, and I really associate a lot of her qualities with mine, but I also wanted to bring this realness to her, like she was just the girl next door, because I didn't want her to be this caricature of a fan-favorite heroine in a book. I wanted her to be someone you could be friends with next door."

Aidan Turner named on list for next Ryan Gosling
![]() |
| Aidan Turner (Photo: Rex/Rex USA) |
Well, Aidan Turner has been named by Refinery29 as one of eleven actors who will be the next Ryan Gosling! Exciting, right? Turner, who is going to be Luke Garroway in the upcoming The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, has been on our list of actors who we adore even before he was tapped to play the werewolf. Let's see why Refinery29 has placed him on the Gosling Grid:
Aidan Turner
On the Gosling Grid because: He might not be a household name yet, but just wait: He's got a hefty role in the next two Hobbit movies, and is playing the good guy in this year's Twilight and City Of Bones. Like Gosling, he also got his start on the small screen, as well, with the BBC series Being Human. Oh, and he's got an Irish accent. Just saying.
Other hotties on the list, who we can all agree are amazing actors worth of Ryan Gosling fame stature, are Nicholas Hoult, Sam Claflin, Jim Sturgess, Max Thierot, Max Minghella, Donald Glover, Tom Hardy, Eddie Redmayne, and Douglas Booth.
Are you excited to see Aidan as Luke in TMI: City of Bones? Share your thoughts below!

Robert Sheehan (Simon Lewis) recently did an interview iwth Irish Times where he talked about the experience he had while filming The Mortal Instruments: City fo Bones.
Check out what he had to say below:
"He recently finished filming The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, an adaption of the first of a series of bestselling fantasy novels by Cassandra Clare. “On the first day I was doing a scene with Lily Collins [Phil Collins’s daughter]. The whole street was cordoned off, and they had hundreds of extras and hundreds of crew. It was just a gigantic operation, moving incredibly fast. I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was huge, logistically, and incredibly impressive. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time.”

THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS:CITY OF BONES finishes second in MTV'S Movie Brawl
The winner of MTV's Movie Brawl is.... The Hunger Games:Catching Fire.
The Mortal Instruments of course came in second place. We had a really great run. We beat out Carrie, The Hobbit and Spring Breakers.
Congratulations to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for the 2013 win.
"After "The Hunger Games" lost a knock-down, drag-out fight at the hands of Robert Pattinson fans and the indie surprise "Cosmopolis," "Catching Fire" has risen from the ashes — and 10 million votes — to
claim this year's title as the most anticipated movie of 2013. The victory, however, does mean a disappointing end for "The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones," the hotly anticipated YA adaptation and the rookie star of the bracket."
The Mortal Instruments lost by 100,000 votes. There were over 10 million votes were cast by both Shadowhunters and Tributes.
Check out what Executive Producer Martin Moszkowicz had to say:
It was a close race for us and we showed that we are a force to be reckoned with. We have the best fandom ever. We are so proud to we are able to represent it.
Check out the article that MTV did on the brawl.
