Movie Monday #4: Church and Chairman Meow
We are just over a year away from the the theatrical release of ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ and the hype for the adaptation of the internationally best selling series by Cassandra Clare will only continue to grow as the release draws nearer.
With some help from fellow ‘Mortal Instruments’ fansites (TMI Source, Mundie Moms, TMI Examiner and TMI News in Espanol) we’ve teamed up for a new weekly feature called Movie Monday.
Each Monday leading up to the August 23, 2013, release of ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,’ we will take a look at a scene, moment, detail, etc. and give our opinions on how we think it will be interpreted in the big screen adaptation.
Here's my take on our two feline friends:
After batting this question around a bit like good cat would do, I think it is possible that they will put Church and Chairman Meow in the movie. It’s a hard call. If it were between the two, I feel that Church is the cat that needs to be in the film. I feel he provides comic relief and possesses a certain human characteristic that is just as much a part of the institute as the Shadowhunters themselves. I think he is important to the story as is Chairman Meow because they are both so old and have seen so much. I’m not exactly sure where Cassie is leading us with these two cats in the book, but I thin they will ultimately be important to the end game. If there are multiple movies, which I believe undoubtedly there will be, we will need the cats in the film.
