I’m not even sure I can find the right words for this. Hell, I can’t even type properly. There are so many feeeeelings!
You have NO idea. I was umming and awwwing and OHHHING and NOOOOING all the way through this book and nearly cried a few times near the end. The happy, bittersweet, sad, but happy again feeling that is how I feel for the ending is….way too intense.
Like I said, I’m stuck for words.

So Ethan is…stuck, in the Otherworld and he has to find a way home…with the trust and help of Lena and Amma and anyone else that has the patience and power. So much happens… Oh God…where do I start? And without SPOILING!

Ethan learns a lot while…well…dead, and on his quest (which actually turns out a lot like something out of a TriWizard Tournament from Harry Potter) he meets a lot of weird and wonderful people. And some he thought gone for good. OH MY GOD…..

There are so many twists and turns in this story. The minute you think something is going to happen, it turns out…it isn’t, or it’s a whole lot worse. I read this book in about 2 days, and that’s saying something because the last 3 took me about…well, a lot longer.

Here are my tributes (no THG pun intended) and what I want to say about them:

Macon: iHeart you. You’re fierce, loyal, funny, you have the best lines and I want you as my uncle. No lie.
Abraham: Well, what can I say? I hate the bastard. He got what was coming to him. (no spoils)
Xavier: Oh how I loved you. Thanks for helping my boy! (iHearts Ethan, btw)
Amma: I’ll always love you. You’re ability to not take crap from no one is exceptional. And how loyal and loving you are to everyone. *sobs*
Lena: Oh man, she really kicked….well, something. I loved how they had a three parts to this book. You got a new look at how Lena thinks and feels, rather than just from Ethan’s pov and how he sees her.

John and Ridley, you guys are fab. I know Rid is on the dark side of the force, but damn she’s awesome. John turned out to be pretty amazing too.

Sarafine: oh yes, I said Sarafine. But that’s another story that I will not spoil. I still hate that bitch, but….well, you’ll see.

Sorry this is a weird review, but strangely all my feelings are so jumbled, I can’t find the right way to write this. I’m sure I’ll find it soon.

Most of all, I’m so freaking sad this is the last book. I didn’t want it to end. In all, in my humblest opinion, Beautiful Chaos and Beautiful Redemption have been THE BEST BOOKS OF THE SERIES! ( with the exception of Beautiful Creatures that was the start of it all, of course.)

I have to praise Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl for coming up with this story and making it such an emotion, funny, bittersweet journey. I’m so pleased I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad It ended on a high note. I wouldn’t have had it end any other way.

Oh, now my words make sense. Anyway, that’s it from me.

I've never been that good with words. Not for reviews anyway. (Stories are another matter entirely.) So it might not come as a shock to you that this book has left me speechless. In a good way.

Katy finds out she's not quite as normal as she first thought. Doors are slamming, lockers are opening of their own accord, and glasses are breaking. Not to mention windows are shattering. Cool, huh?
But this isn't supposed to happen. Well, I suppose it depends on your view. Ever since Daemon healed Katy on Halloween night, things have been a little...crazy.
Daemon and Katy are still fighting, but this time the heat is up. Turned all the way up. The oven is on, baby, and this time it's going sonic style! *giggles*

Still, my favourite scene of them all has to be back in Obsidian when Daemon is trying to get rid of the trace on Katy and they argue and end up kissing, blowing up her laptop in the process.

There are plenty of hot moments like that (ehem...library anyone?) but I don't think...anything quite as intense. Maybe it was just me that felt that, but that doesn't detract from the sexy sexy scenes there were.
I laughed so hard in some scenes as well. Especially a certain scene where Katy & Daemon are caught in a rather...compromising position. I won't spoil. But let's just say... AWKWAAARD!

Simon is back, for a while, and even weirder and drunker than normal.
I was mildly surprised by the lack of Arum this time around, but then again, it wasn't the Arum they really had to worry about. The DOD are in town and they're very interested in Katy. What she finds out about THEM, though, is even more disturbing. 

Also, a certain person who shall remain nameless but was supposedly dead, is seen by Katy and she doesn't know what this means. Everything she and Daemon have known is tipped upside down and they go on a wild hunt trying to put all the pieces together. It really was thrilling to read. So much action, but not in the overly descriptive way. It drew me in quicker and didn't leave me wanting to fast forward pages just to get to the point.

Onyx was just as good, if not better, as its predecessor. Obsidian had me blown away, and Onyx had me... blown away and strapped to the bottom of a war plane in the middle of the Middle East. It made me feel excited, scared, happy, sad... I didn't think I could have so many feelings for one book (and I've read a lot of books.). There are only a small few of the books I've read that have made me feel so....hooked. I mean, I get hooked, but not...not like this. I felt like I was actually IN the story, living the lives along with Katy and Daemon. I didn't cry...although I sure felt like it at times. But I did feel fear.

And also there were times when I was one step ahead of Katy, as I'm sure a lot of readers were.

When there were some intensely sexy scenes though, most of the time I was like O.O WHYYYYY? YOU CAME SO CLOSE? JUST DO IT ALREADY!

Yeah I know. I'm a perv.

I felt sorry for Dee this time around because since Katy was spending so much time training with Blake, and dealing with her new powers and the connection with Daemon, since she didn't want Dee to know.... well, that made it hard for her. And for me. I wanted to shake Dee and tell her that Katy had a reason for all of this. She wasn't just ditching her for some loser with surfer hair.


So over all, if I had to recommend one series this year, it would HAVE to be the Lux series. No, not the Luxe series (because that's a completely different story)...so please don't get confused.

Really pretty good. I liked the first book, and was excited to get this, however I had actually forgotten what had happened previously. But I soon got into the story again and as before, fell in love with Haden all over again *sigh*

So this time Mara is ruling the roost, so to speak. She's taking over Theia's life and there's not much she can do about it. Apart from step up and be strong. And boy, she does. Although there were a few times where her inability to trust her friends and most of all, Haden, bugged me. She just wouldn't open up and say what was wrong, all the while letting her feelings build up until it's too late to fix the problems.

Haden was as lush as ever, although he had some matters of his own to attend to. I loved the tie between Amelia, Donny, Gabe and Theia and Haden, as well as Varnie (I'll get to him later). This time they were more included and I loved the twist third way into the book where they all got their points of views written. It was nice to see a different perspective for once, even if it was just for a short while.

I felt that the story didn't really get into the full mix of things until at least half way, which is why I'm rating this book 4stars. The writing, however, was brilliant and enticing and really made me imagine the journey in my head rather than get overwhelmed with big words and heavy description. There were times where i was confused, but then soon everything became clear. 

I unfortunately looked up reviews for this book while I was reading it (don't know why) and someone hadn't hidden a spoiler. I won't say what it was, but let's just say that it's sad and heartbreaking.

Overall there really isn't much else that I disliked about this book. It was one that captured my heart and entertained me, but now I want to know what happens next. I'm hoping there is a third book.... because I don't feel that Haden and Theia's story has truly ended yet .ALso... dammit! They need to get it on :P All that chemistry!

What happened to her father was tragic. I wasn't expecting that, and the story behind Mike and Amelia was unexpected too. Mike's sudden turn of events took me by surprise, but he bugged me anyway. I was kind of hoping...well, that he would die or something. Alas...no such luck.

So if you liked Falling Under, you'll hopefully like this. It's got all the same elements that you'll love, and more. I recommend it to anyone that likes forbidden love and demons and magic. :)

Book Review: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

First off I'd like to say HOLY MOTHER OF GOD THAT WAS SEXY!

Secondly, I'd like to say, WHAT IS IT WITH SEXY BOYS IN BOOKS?

And thirdly...well...I just damn well loved this book!

I'll admit, the concept of aliens was slightly...off-putting at first. I know lots of my followers on twitter have read this, and my friends were saying over and over that I had to read it. But aliens, really? I just couldn't see it.
However, I was intrigued. I was hesitant about buying the book, but I did anyway and guess what? I fell in love. The aliens...they're just not what you imagine. And asides from a couple of times when he talks about where he comes from.... well you mostly can forget it's aliens.

This sexy sexy, down right hilarious (in parts, but even the sexy parts were kinda funny) book was just what I wanted. Albeit, some of the scenes were a little...shall I say, cheesy. And the sexy scenes sometimes a little....frustrating because you just wanted these two lovely characters, Daemon and Katy to get at it like rabbits but for some unfortunate reason Daemon continued to be an ass and piss off the person he really, actually likes. Who knows why he acts that way. Daemon is a complete mystery to us all, I should think.
He is, ultimately, a sex god. He has that swagger, that "I know I'm hot and there's nothing you can do about it" vibe going on. And usually that would put me off, because there's nothing sexier than a humble guy who is sexy but doesn't know it. Well, now it turns out, you can have both.

Katy's whole persona was, at first glance, JUST LIKE ME! I was shocked. Asides from the fact I'm not that attractive (in my own eyes) and I don't have the luck of guys falling for me (maybe in my dreams), we were basically the same. As I'm sure a lot of other book nerdy girls around the globe are. We sit in front of our computers, shut out from the world, writing up blogs and stuff. Sadly, not all of us have the pleasure of having a REALLY HOT neighbour.

So their chemistry, Katy and Daemon... Can I say...SMOKING! They made me laugh so hard with their banter, and you knew there was an underlining emotion there that was dying to break free of its chains. A couple of times it did, but then...it got smacked back down to ChinaTown, as they say.

I loved Dee, i thought her bubbly personality was....albeit a little exhausting at times, but she really had a good heart to her. Lesa and...I forget the other girls name, well they added something..not quite sure what yet, but I'm sure it'll occur to me in time.
I loved Katy's mum...she was what you would call Embarrassing. With a capitol E. But cool with it, in a way.

Even though, in some other books that are somewhat sexy, there may not be much actual plot, unlike them, this was just...The dialogue was so good, it made you forget that there wasn't actually that much going on. Not in a bad way, but I found myself so engrossed in the backwards and forwards arguments (albeit, funny) between Katy & Daemon, that nothing major really needed to happen. Some books make that mistake of having not much go on and you're just reading paragraph after paragraph of what they did next but nothing EXCITING happens. This book...took you to the sky and back again. I swear to you...
The action was just as intense, too. It was written in a way that I didn't get bored. Some fight scenes in books can leave you feeling like you've just swallowed a lot of words but not a lot going on, you know? This time, I was in the moment. I felt the pain and the (sometimes pleasure) and the drama.

So I don't usually do really long reviews, and I'm doing my best not to spoil too much (Hopefully I've succeeded) and so I will leave you with these three wise words:

READ. THIS. BOOK!

There's no other way to put it. I can't believe I hadn't read this sooner, but now I'm beyond excited to purchase Onyx on Amazon and read that and find out what other kinky/sassy/fun stuff the duo get up to.

A definite five stars for this bad boy!

I first got this book because so many people on twitter had said how great it was. So I thought "why not?"
It had never jumped out at me before, but it was worth a shot. And you know what? I liked it. Mostly.

The use of Greek mythology in with modern times was done well, if slightly confusing in parts.
But I think that was more due to how the characters behaved. I thought some of the reactions I.e. Claire, when Helen showed her what she could do and Claire was basically unsurprised.
I just found it...unrealistic. If that's even possible in a work of fiction.

So the relationship between Helen and Lucas...oh where do I start?

They had me on a weird, stop and start, whiplash roller coaster. I think because at first you think they have no chance of being together, then BAM! they're suddenly in love. I felt that it all happened a bit too quickly, given how big the book was.
Their twist near the end,though was a bit weird. Confusing. And I just thought they had enough problems without adding to it. Asides from that, the pace was quite slow.

In some ways I felt the story could have been wrapped up in about 350 pages rather than the long 514 that it was.  However, I liked how each character had their own part to play and there weren't any fill-ins just to keep things interesting. It was interesting all on its own.

The interaction between each of the family members was a bit confusing at first and trying to decipher each of their motives was hard, but then you find out why they each act how they act and everything falls into place.

 Over all I'd probably give this book a 3.5 out of 5. Looking forward to reading Dreamless (Book 2)

Book Review: Beautiful Chaos by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Sometimes there isn't just one answer or one choice. Sometimes there's no going back. And this time there won't be a happy ending.





If there was ever a word to describe this book it would probably be....poignant.

If I'm honest, I didn't know what to think when I started reading this book, since I didn't think much to Beautiful Darkness until the end. But I absolutely loved this. The third instalment to a rather complicated but fascinating story.
The title really does live up to its name: there was certainly a lot of chaos.

I thought the character development was far better and compared to Beautiful Darkness, the characters themselves were... less annoying. Lena wasn't as whiny, or emo as before, and she really is growing on me. I think what it is, is they're all growing up. In a way that might not be obvious, but you can sort of...tell. 

They're only 17/18 years old, but since book 1, they've all had to face challenges that no teenager should have to deal with: death, sacrifice, a world ending...you know, the average problems one goes through on a day to day basis. Haha.
Ethan found he had a few things to figure out in this part of his life's story.

Certain characters surprised me, however. Like John Breed. He turned out to be less of an arse-hole than I initially thought; so I guess Ethan and I have that in common. 

I felt sorry for Marian and Liv. 

Macon as always proved his potential and cracked me up in moments that quite frankly, you don't expect to be made to laugh. He just has that wit in the most weirdest of moments.

Near the end, however, Amma disappointed me.

Sarafine's history tidbits were really interesting, and you got to know more about her - maybe even feel sorry for her in moments - but in the end, she just didn't change.

Abraham.... yeah I still hate him.

Link...Oh, he really brought his personality to the forefront. I adore Link, and in some ways, I think he kind of makes the story. Just because he proves he's more than just a sidekick. He can help, too. And especially given the problem in which he gained at the end of Beautiful Darkness, he proves his worth, too. He's not useless, and he has a heart. 

I mean the "love story" between him and Ridley was both sad and quite disturbing. He loves her, and she just can't deal with what she became so she goes and hurts him. Denial is a cruel beast.
I just hope Link can come down from that horrid roller-coaster of feelings and find happiness.

That ending though....I did NOT see that coming. Then again, I'm no Seer. Oh I can't wait for Beautiful Redemption. I know it's going to be kick-ass.

So that's my view, and I definitely think, even if you struggled through Beautiful Darkness, to get through to Beautiful Chaos is SO WORTH IT! In my opinion, it's the best of the series so far.

It's got the romance, drama, action, and lots of well written character building! You (hopefully) won't be disappointed!

Review: Witch Way to Turn by Karen Y Bynum

Despite a convict and an assassin fighting over her, all Breena wants is custody of her sister. But to do this, she will need help from both Myles and Orin. And if Breena doesn’t learn to control the darkness within, she could lose her sister…forever.

Well, where do I start? Karen (the author) is one of my many good friends as well as a wonderful...I suppose you could say 'guide' with writing. She's funny, smart, and now I know 100%...a FANTASTIC writer. I was so so proud of her when she finally got this wonderful story published and what's more, printed!

When I finally got my hands on this baby I started one night and (yes I did sleep...) then it only took me about a day to read it. I was hooked.
It did take a little bit of time to understand the story and the ins and outs, and okay so maybe I got a tad confused occasionally, but the rest: the romance (Oh, the romance), the characters personalities and the drama completely had me in, hook line and sinker. There was no way I could put this down.


Number 1: I COMPLETELY fell in love with Myles! Screw Orin. He can go jump off a soul sucking cliff, for all I care. Yes, he had his good parts: his charm, his sexiness and his green eyes that made you forget everything you were doing and want to jump his bones (ehem...did I just say that out loud? oops) but then....He was just so...stalkerish, and yes he might be hot, but so are nearly all the love interests in books these days.
Myles... Holy Hotness of Vampireland. What is it with vampires that makes me want to just... be one? First Edward then Bill, now Myles. Anyway, I'm drifting.


When Breena unleashes powers she's never thought possible, she thinks it's a fluke. There's no such thing has supernaturals in her world. But then comes along Orin who...well, turns her world up side down.
Myles, little does she know, is also in the mix and is madly in love with her. But as always, there are complications.
Breena's attitude... the poor girl went through so much crap, it was hard to keep up. I think my head was spinning before I'd gotten to chapter 2!
Jenny, her sister in bond (not blood) was cute, but damn she couldn't keep a secret! The relationship between the two of them was so sweet and made me wish I had my own younger sister. *daydreams*

There's a lot more where that came from and I challenge you to read this...and then say you weren't in love with it! Because it's probably got more spark and fire in each chapter than some YA books have in 400 pages. No word of a lie. (well... don't quote me on that, okay?)


All in all this is a fantastic YA book with enough romance in to give it that extra spark needed to give this a 5 star story :D

Review: The Name of the Star; by Maureen Johnson

This murderer appears to be mimicking Jack the Ripper - his first victim was sliced and diced in exactly the same manner as the Ripper's in 1888. More murders happen in the neighborhood of Rory's school, and one day she crosses paths with the killer. The strange thing is, she seems to be the only person able to see him. Rory soon discovers that she possesses an ability to see ghosts and is eager to assist the ghost police of London in its search for the serial killer.

I finally finished it! I did. I did I tell ya! It was good. Really good. Okay, so maybe a bit slow in some parts, but that was mostly me. Not the story. My concentration span on books these days has been terrible and I don't know why...

I loved the sense of humour in this story. Rory was a wonderful character, and the way she described the differences between Southern American culture and British culture (where I live) was funny... 

I never knew books with Jack the Ripper could be so amusing. But this one is. There were a lot of times that I was laughing out loud hysterically. The writer managed to balance the creepiness and entertainment just right. 

The writing style was easy to get into and I found myself so involved that I felt I was actually there. I've never really been around East London that much...because, well, I have no reason to. But this story certainly made me feel like, as I said, I was there, and I could almost picture the places where she went. 

All the characters were very interesting and each and every one had a very distinct personality, with each of their own secrets. Rory, Jazza, Jerome, Alistair, I love. Even Boo, Stephen, Callum, where at first I had a sense of distrust and an unsettling feeling about them, all had something special and unique to add to the story. 

This is a brilliant book; witty, romantic, thrilling, scary in parts, and funny (Witty is the same thing, right?) So go read it if you haven't already.

I can't get over how good this book was compared to the first...! I honestly felt like crying at the end. (I won't spoil)

RHODE! RHODE and his blue, blue eyes. I adored him. The tragedy of his love for Lenah and the decree in which the Aeris had given them...was torturous and hard to read. 

VICKEN, oh how I loved Vicken's humour and his just plain sarcastic funniness (that's not even a word, is it?) I laughed so much whenever he was around. He had a way with words that just lightened the heaviness of their trauma, and their problems. I didn't like him in the first book (truth be told, he wasn't in it enough to really know him but what I did read (see?) I didn't like.

I... I can't put into words how much better than the first Vampire Queen book this is. This truly captured me; made me feel like I was there. In their world, experiencing everything they experienced. 


and LENAH for her sacrifices and regrets and still..so so brave. She dealt with everything in the best way she could. Even when there was a clear killer vampire after her, she had to deal with friends dying, a soulmate whom she could never be with and school homework. 

Justin bugged me in this book, though. Although you find out why he was being the way he was, at the end, it still annoyed me.

There is apparently going to be a third in this series, so I cannot wait for that, even though I felt this book had a nice ending. It tied up well. Well, when I say 'nice' I mean heartbreakingly sad, but bittersweet in its own way.

So captivating. 
You should read this. Even if you find the first book hard to get through, please PLEASE get through it so you can read this gem. It's not often a sequel is far better than the first, but wow...this took my breath away. And there are a couple of scenes near the end that will...*sob* I can't go on.

Review for 'Slated' by Teri Terry

I couldn't have got more sucked in to this book if I was in quick sand. The general principle of this story is this: 
The year is 2050's (never quite sure on the exact date) and Kyla is among the many that have been wiped of their memories, their past life, slated.
When a person is slated, it's usually because they were some kind of criminal, terrorist, or maybe had a bad upbringing and wanted a new life, so they do this because they believe - they as in the Government - that they are helping these people.

Mostly everyone who is Slated lives with it, gets on with their new life. But not Kyla. There seems to be dreams, hints in her subconscious that she is missing something; she doesn't feel quite right. And soon she discovers she isn't normal. While others just nod along and agree with everything anyone says, Kyla questions peoples incentives, their honour, trust. And this, this isn't good. Because the more Kyla does this, the more her memories unravel, and she begins to wonder who she was before she was Slated.

This story really captured my attention, not just because it's based in London (near where i live) but because you really understood Kyla's feelings and the overwhelming sense of not belonging.

While the government is trying to control everyones behaviour, Kyla has to hide her thoughts, her fears, and act like they want her to act. 

Then she meets Ben, who is also a Slated. 

I won't say anymore, but know this, you have not LIVED until you've read this! It is a true dystopian if ever there was one. 
I love it, and I hope you all will too. 

Review for 'Shatter Me' by Tahereh Mafi

Words cannot describe how good this book was.




It took time to fully grasp what the hell was going on, but also I think that was me feeling what Juliette was feeling. She was confused, lonely, afraid, and every other mother f*cking emotion that made her who she was. Human. Despite what she told herself. Despite others being afraid of her.


And boy did she learn to deal. She kicked ASS! Adam <3 but still a psycho part of me kinda liked Warner... I know. I'm a bad person. But I have a thing for troubled guys in fiction.




I also kind of liked Kenji, even though he was annoying as hell, he still had that smart arse attitude, a quirky sense of humour. It made things come to life, made you laugh while horrible things went on around them.




I seriously need Unravel Me now. *adds it to my Amazon basket*




If you haven't read Shatter Me yet, What are you waiting for?!


It's got everything you could possibly want/need in a YA Dystopian - in fact, I think it's more than a dytopian...it's more, dytopian fantasy. There's supernatural, sexy sexy romance, some light humour, thrills, pain, excitement.... I was not expecting to like this as much as I did (if I'm being honest) so I am thoroughly GLAD I did.







You need to read this, just to see its excellence.
