Harry Shum Jr Joins 'Shadowhunters' Cast as Magnus Bane!

Harry Shum Jr. (Glee!)has been added to ABC Family's Shadowhunters cast as Magnus Bane!
Shadowhunters is based on the best-selling series by Cassandra Clare, The Mortal Instruments. Shum Jr. will play the role as the high warlock of Brooklyn. Bane's style can be described as eccentric and while his personality is fierce, charming, and keeps his cards close to his chest. Even though he looks like he is only in his 20s, he is actually hundreds of years old – which makes him wiser and wary of others.

Sketch by Cassandra Jean

Shadowhunters is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. McG will also direct the first episode. The network has previously announced series regulars Katherine McNamara as ‘Clary Fray,’ Dominic Sherwood as ‘Jace Wayland,’ Alberto Rosende as ‘Simon,’ Emeraude Toubia as ‘Isabelle Lightwood,’ Matthew Daddario as ‘Alec Lightwood’ and Isaiah Mustafa as ‘Luke Garroway.’ Alan Van Sprang was announced earlier this afternoon as a recurring guest star in the role of ‘Valentine.’

Do you guys see the resemblance?!? He is perfect for the role! Congrats Harry! Hopefully we see some of your amazing dance moves on the show!

CITY OF ASHES: Share your thoughts on favorite scenes from the book

After receiving news last night that the production of The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes is being delayed, I kept thinking about ways to help get the word out that Shadowhunters want to see this film made.

First and foremost, spread the word by tweeting #WeNeedCityofAshes.

My next thought is to start a discussion about what scenes we want to see in the follow up film and ways to take what we've seen in City of Bones and incorporate it into the next film to clear up any confusion in the canon of the story line.

We want YOU to get involved in this discussion. We want you to send us comments in the comment section below. You can also send us Facebook comments on The Mortal Institute Facebook page. Also, feel free to send me an email at themortalinstitute@gmail.com. I will try my best to respond to everyone's emails and to also compile ideas for the film to send to Constantin.

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS, SHADOWHUNTERS! With your help, we can make sure that the studio hears fan comments. We want City of Ashes to be made and be a HUGE SUCCESS.

MUST WATCH: "A world hidden within our own" Experience in Munich, Germany!

Constantin Film has come up with a very creative (but spooky) way to promote this summer's biggest movie, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones!

"To the introduce the motion picture film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in Munich, Germany, unsuspecting passersby experienced “a world hidden within our own”. They were secretly filmed part of the production. Afterwards, all the participants were cleared up and surprised with premiere tickets."

Any shadowhunters wish Constantin Film could do this in your city?
