The snippet is kind of like a twofer. There are two parts. The first little segment taking place in 1847 in the Marking ceremony of Aloysius Starkweather's granddaughter. It then jumps ahead to 1873 when a young Will Herondale, cruel and unsure, meets a young Jem Carstairs, kind and confident. We are granted a window into the beginning of their special bond and what led the two to become parabatai.
If you want to read this wonderful prologue before Clockwork Princess hits bookshelves in March..then you might just have to get an iPhone (or you can go here to download it the Shadowhunter app> from iTunes )...but don't fret, March is just around the corner.
